Maureen earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Kenyon College, a Law Degree from The Ohio State University College of Law, and a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pfeiffer University (Charlotte, NC). She is a member of Delta Kappa, the Marriage and Family Therapy honor society at Pfeiffer University. Maureen completed her post-degree clinical training simultaneously at the St. Francis Bon Secours Cancer Center in Greenville, South Carolina and the Emerge Family Therapy Center & Teaching Clinic in Spartanburg, South Carolina where she completed a two-year fellowship in Couple’s Therapy with a focus on The Gottman Method. She is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Maureen is a trained facilitator for both PREPARE/ENRICH and The Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home Program. Maureen focuses primarily on premarital and marital relationship counseling. She supplements an evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapeutic approach (CBT) with a wide array of helpful information, books, techniques, and practices to diminish marital distress and to deepen marital connection. Maureen also sees individual adults and families to address a variety of issues including grief and loss, anxiety, low self-esteem, and parenting. Believing in the intrinsic dignity of every human person, Maureen strives to create a warm and respectful rapport with her clients to build a foundation of comfort and acceptance on which to work toward healing.
